Stay informed on outdoor air quality conditions, plan your outdoor activities, and manage exposure to outdoor air pollution. The Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) Canada app informs users of the level of health risk associated with local outdoor air quality. The app provides hourly AQHI readings and daily forecasts for all AQHI communities across Canada. The app includes the following features: • User defined push notifications based on the AQHI level and stations you choose. • Map screen to view spatial distribution of AQHI over a region or the entire country. • GPS capability to bring you to your nearest station from the map screen. • Profile view for setting favourite communities. • Tips for taking personal action to improve air quality. The AQHI is reported as a number from 1 to 10. The higher the AQHI number, the greater the health risk and need to take precautions. Health messaging provides advice for limiting exposure to air pollution and adjusting outdoor activity levels when air quality is poor.

  • Readings not accurate?

    By Coco7779
    I’m in Calgary - right now this app is saying air quality 8— we also have sensorup monitoring in the area-they say 3 micrograms/m3... much much less than an 8. Environment Canada’s air quality right now for Calgary is a 4... 2/3 readings don’t agree with this app... we can’t smell smoke, there’s no visibility issue- I’d say the app is wrong
  • No coverage

    By Barbthescot
    This hasn’t had updates in 2 years so no surprise there isn’t coverage for all areas of Alberta. Put out by Alberta government so I guess that explains it. Deleting now. Previous comments said same thing.
  • Needs iPhone X Update

    By James6479
    The app needs to be updated for the iPhone X. As it is, it displays large black bars on the top and bottom, making the phone look like an old device and not taking advantage of the screen.
  • Not correct info

    By English Canadian
    Why is this fractions off so it only goes to 10+? Right now the air quality is registering a 5, but it’s 156. I’d like to see the actual.
  • A++ App

    What a fantastic app. With all the forest fires and poor air quality it nice to know what area to avoid. A++

  • Great App

    I have small children at home, and it's nice to know when to go around and shut the windows and turn on the Air Purifiers. One feature request: I would love an Apple Watch face complication with the current air quality number. It could sit right beside the current temperature on my watch and provide a clear overview of the conditions.
  • OK app - very helpful

    Note: this app by the Province of Alberta was quicker with an update than Environment Canada. App stated index of 8 at 9 pm and alerted; Environment Canada took until 10 pm to make the same report, caused people to think I was nuts when I reported the 8.
