  • Downloaded shows can’t be watched when offline

The app has an option to download shows and movies. I do this so that I can watch them on the plane. But then even after downloading, if I’m offline there is always an error when I try watching. What is the point of the download option?
  • Terrible app

    By Why bother!?
    Offline downloads don’t work
  • Almost no 4K Dolby Vision, bad controls.

The iOS app still has garbage controls. If only HBO would use the vastly superior, native iOS video controls... This app even broke the native swipe to go back gesture. And now, every time you switch back to the app, you will see a different pop up ad for various content. Sometimes the gross ad pops up after the content begins playing. The AppleTV app was just updated, but it still crashes and needs to be force quit, so you will frequently see the obnoxious new splash screen that also makes noise. The UI is still terrible and navigation feels awkward, but at least it uses the modern Apple video player UI. Scrolling in the AppleTV app feels really off and unfortunately the new skip button placement gets in the way. One thing that hasn’t changed is the use of terrible subtitles. This is true in most foreign TV shows on HBO Max. Rather than use the lovely, dynamic native subtitles, HBO Max uses some terrible subtitles that appear to be permanent; making any content that uses them unwatchable. It is so much nicer watching content on any of the native AppleTV channels. It would be nice if HBO would offer a better HBO hub in the AppleTV app since it is infinitely better to browse for content in Apple’s app. It would be nice if the crap HBO Max app only had to open to play content. It is truly a nightmare trying to use the HBO Max app to look for content. HBO Max has a few titles available in 4K and some of them also have Dolby Vision. However, they don’t show as having Dolby Vision when browsing in the AppleTV app. They don’t appear to have any Dolby Atmos support.
  • Terrible app!

The app don’t work properly. Rarely open. Always crack.
  • Unethical bait and switch in their latest title TLOU

Nobody wants to go to a zombie apocalypse thing to watch gay love. Shove your stuff up your own
  • Can’t play downloaded content

    By wedgester
This is a recent problem - but after downloading a bunch of shows I was unable to play any or even view them. I was on a long flight and all the app would say is “No Internet Connection”. Very frustrating!
  • I cancelled my subscription

First it was Velma show than My favorite game gets turn into a tv series but gets woke, The Last of Us. Episode 3 was the last straw for me. They even said it themselves that they tricked the fans to view the gay sex scene agenda. The game itself doesn’t show any inclination that the character Bill was gay. First was Netflix and now HBO Max. Sad, very sad.
  • Downloads?

    By Dio31
So annoying that you downloaded over 10hrs worth of movies to prepare for a 17hr flight to hop on the plane and not be able to watch your downloads unless you’re connected to internet. I wouldn't have downloaded if I had internet. PLEASE FIX THIS BUG!!!!!!! Its been like this for months now
  • Great selection but incredibly slow to load.

    By Ghosts_Toast
As my title says it has great selection and amazing shows, but when I load the app it takes about a minute for it to load. This is if I’m on WI-FI or data. No matter if I’m close or far from my home router, or even when I’m not at home. That’s the only main issue I see besides very minor things like fixing the UI. Great app and definitely worth the money!
