  • Cool but..

    By SnellieCat
Excuse me but why does it cost $30 a month for premium!?!? I mean if cost like seven dollars like other apps then I’m in, but 30!?!? And plus you can only have 17 min a day and you can’t play any of you “favorite” without paying 30$ a month!?!? The developers must be crazy to think that anyone except for very very very rich people would pay such an amount.
  • Mostly Positive Experience

    By NooBassLuvR
Started with ZERO stringed instrument experience and with a little 200 hrs of play and practice time and I feel I have made strides I never thought possible add to that, in such little time!. Although I put in lots of time within the app, I would research various techniques and topics that were mentioned in the tutorials-outside of the app. With that being said, the app itself has a great flow (though I preferred the previous learning path layout) with many of the songs and exercises a treasure trove of information layered upon each other so doubling back every now and then highlights various aspects of music theory and or how that interacts with the bass guitar fretboard i.e. the diatonic scale exercises. This was apart of the ear training portion of level 5 knowledge and although I did great at it initially this concept would reveal itself to be more complex as i injected more theory into my lesson plan. I started to notice certain songs and lyrics would be highlighting theory concepts or fretboard shapes etc. As my playing progressed I started start to pay attention to the patterns and/in chord progressions and all the other music theory that been put throughout the lesson plan. The layout is addictive and fun because it has real-time feedback and even metronomes and underlying bass if one has not picked up on how to read tabs or notation and would like to hear how it should sound In short, if you have the motivation to teach yourself this app will help you learn to play and although it will be only a step in your journey of playing music it can be a step in the right direction if the user applies Yousician and all other applicable tools to provide more depth when needed. The downsides have been some latency issues which I have a DI so I can switch to that if need be but I prefer to use my computer/phone and amp. Playing directly into the app via a DI can work but I find that I learned how to really play the instrument listening to myself through that amp (it doesn’t hide mistakes). So my technique improved greatly (frethand/ thumb muting, slides, plucking consistency, hammer one’s etc) There was also an issue where the app didn’t work on my computer for a few weeks I resorted to using my phone and it worked surprisingly well. Even after the update my computer will have what seems like visual timing issues. The music is playing fine and my note will pick up the caveat is I have to listen and play - not look at the screen (bouncy ball) because I’ll be late on every note. But my phone runs cherry 😯 Those issues aside, I have a positive experience and this has really made learning a new instrument fun and rewarding on so many levels (next is jamming with people!) I feel is the easiest way for any self starter to learn. Some may need a human to guide them and that’s ok too. But if you got the will this is a way.

  • Better than Simply Guitar but the timer is annoying

  • So Much Satisfaction

    By lupsie19
I want to learn guitar to play my favorite songs. So being able to play along to songs, even in the very simple way for my beginner level gives me a lot of satisfaction. I am jamming playing my 4 notes per song haha.
  • Guided courses

    By Faggotnutsackflappytitties
I’m stuck. There’s a song that is just too hard for me in the guided courses. What do I do? Just keep playing it? I was expecting more guidance than having to restart a million times because I’m not hitting enough notes. Too much time is spent fussing with the app and not enough actual practice. Very much regret buying premium.
  • One issue

    By wachitoboy
The app is great it was really easy to understand and follow BUT a big But, the app was doing good at first but now it’s having trouble hearing my notes and it’s not giving me credits for the notes I’m hitting and it just keeps saying plug your guitar into the amp if you have an electric and I did and I have the volume up so high and it’s still now picking up my strings it’s very frustrating and just unmotivates you to keep going
  • Amazing App

    By Nbachynski36
This is an incredible app. I have learned so much in the first couple of weeks and you don’t even realize how far you’ve come! It’s a ton of fun. Highly recommend.
