  • Fantastic app with superb design

These guys are fantastic; they really know good design! I guess that’s what you can expect from ex-Apple employees. The user interface & user experience is top-notch. I used AstroPad for a while then I also got their Luna product which lets you use your iPad as a second monitor that is touch-capable. I think the Luna also boosts the performance of AstroPad, although I never had any problems with AstroPad before (probably it helps that I have a good WiFi network in my home). I just tried my Luna out with AstroPad and it works great! Super responsive with very clear Retina graphics. It’s nice that the app comes with a tool to let you track the product performance in real time (latency, etc). Note that Luna on your iPad doesn’t work with pressure-sensitive styluses unless you also get the AstroPad product. But when you combine Luna with AstroPad you can use the pressure-sensitive feature on your stylus and its an amazing experience! In that case, you open the AstroPad app on your devices rather than the Luna app. But thanks to the Luna app, with that setup you can continue to use your iPad as a second display. This really is the ultimate setup. It’s a great way to take your Mac and your iPad and combine them to have a touch-enabled drawing pad that works with Apple Pencil. And much cheaper than buying a Wacom drawing pad or a second monitor with touch/draw capability.

Every time I try and use this app it’s out of date with the version on my Mac and I have to spend ten minutes downloading and installing updates.

  • Okay guys, why the secret about what version IOS and Mac OS versions.

    By Hardcore Trek Tek
Not that I really care any more since I am still using an older Mac/Mac OS and older Astropad version, but why do you not post the actual iOS and Mac OS versions requirements in your recent iOS update descriptions? Why the secrecy? All you say is that the newest version requires both an iPad upgrade/update and a Mac OS upgrade/update. Why don't you simply spell out all of the current Astropad upgrade/update requirements. The system requirements aren't even up to date on your Website, either! Again why? There are probably Astropad Standard users that use your app that can’t upgrade past OS X 10.11 El Capitán or past macOS 10.12 Sierra/High Sierra. What gives? Just tell users what the new OS and hardware requirements are for cryin' out loud! You always do this! Not give Astropad users the heads up on any new iOS/Mac OS system requirements. Fortunately for me, I still use a version of iTunes that still saves apps and I save all of my Mac companion app versions of Astropad, as well. So, it's easy for me to revert back to my older Astropad setup, if your updates aren’t working for me. Most users aren't as smart and computer savvy as I and may get screwed now with no way to re-install an older version of Astropad (without a lot of difficulty ) back to an iPad and NO way to install the older Mac companion app unless they save all the previous versions (in a backup for instance ). Just give Astropad users the full hardware/software specs, in the IOS App description, already! Enough with the vague hsrdware/software descriptions.

I can access online animation programs on my drawing iPad! Sooooo helpful! Can be laggy or glitchy at times, but nothing’s perfect.
  • So Glad I Didn’t Buy a New Wacom.

I’ve tried other mirroring apps in the past and have always been let down. Luckily I stumbled on this and decided to give it one more try before spending $375 on a tablet. I couldn’t be happier, and I’m so impressed with how well this works with my new 12.9 iPad Pro and 27” iMac. Thanks for making this so great! I can’t wait to look into the little red USB device you guys make and turn my iPad into a second non-mirror display, too. Thanks!
  • Very useful!

This app keeps on getting to be more useful with the advancements the team at astropad has done since I first bought the version 1. Highly recommended!👍🏽
