  • Works fine on older devices. I was hesitant to purchase due to mixed reviews

    By jennb435
I wish an app at this price point would offer a trial. Even for just an hour to make sure that it works on devices. I almost didn’t purchase this app due to the mixed reviews and high cost. I’m glad that I decided to make the purchase as it is working fine for the job that I need it to do. I am a photographer. I am using this to paint masks in Lightroom and Photoshop. I do not need the advanced features of the pro version or the precision of an Apple Pencil. I am using iOS 12.3.1 on a 4 year old iPad Air 2. I have macOS Sierra on a MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch early 2015. I have the current versions of Adobe CC, Lightroom Classic and Photoshop 2019. I’m working on raw files on an external SSD drive. So far, I have only used this over my not very great WiFi and it’s been fast enough. I have noticed a bit of lag especially when zoomed. I’m only painting masks, so it really doesn’t matter. I am using the app in finger mode with an old rubber tip stylus. This is a huge upgrade over painting masks with the MacBook track pad. I do have a Wacom, but have never cared for it much. I did try the free version of the Astropad app on my iPhone 6 running iOS 12.3.1. It is a pretty small interface to do extended work. But as a test, I was able to make sure the app connected ok with my laptop and I figured if the app worked on a device of the same year running he same iOS, there was a pretty good chance it would work ok on my iPad.
  • Please give me my money back

    By android was better
I’ve tried every method, and I can’t get my money back. I bought the app today and due to the fact that I can’t afford a new iPad and an Apple Pencil, this app is useless to me. I realized it seconds after buying the app. But I am told that I’m not eligible to get a refund. No explanation was given. Give me my money back and you can have the five star review that the app deserves.
  • Nice

    By Ridmo
I use Astropad standard with an iPad Air 2 cable connected to a Mac Pro with various styli and find it quite useful. Setup was easy and instructions clear. The only small problem is there is a bit of a lag when moving or resizing using finger gestures.
  • warning to those not on latest macOS

    By Subjonas
This app was great while I could use it. But if like me, you can’t update your macOS for various reasons, eventually, your Mac app will be stuck at a certain version, and the iOS app will continue updating until, without warning, it loses compatibility—and you are left with nothing. And you cannot return to the older version due to App store policy, according to Astropad support. So the only way to avoid this is to turn off ipad app automatic updates before compatibility breaks, which I absolutely would have done. But there is no way to know at what iOS app version compatibility breaks because there is no warning. Astropad needs to send out major email warnings whenever there is an upcoming break in compatibility for those of us who need to stay on older software. But because they didn’t, though I paid for Astropad I no longer have it.

I’m illustrating a book, and this app is fantastically handy with Photoshop!
  • Getting better but give me option to just buy pro

    By Duckdodger01
I would say biggest killer for me is the lack of option to buy pro outright. I don’t care if it is $100. I would rather pay a one time fee than be subjected to a subscription. If I had to shell $5-$10 per month for every company that wanted me to subscribe to their service I would not be able to afford my hobby on a monthly basis. Please offer a one time purchase for pro. Regular is good and thank you for letting us buy that, I just wish I had the extra features. I will never do a subscription service though. EVER.
  • This app is my only reason for owning he iPad Pro

    By shermqua
This is the only reason I own an iPad Pro. I am a storyboard artist and this is the app I was waiting for when when I iPad was introduced.
  • love it. please add windows support

    By capncuddles420
i love this app so much. it completely revolutionized illustrator and photoshop for me. the only thing id ask for is windows support, because i also do a lot of computing on my windows computer and it gets me down that i cant use astropad with it. to get the same functionality, id have to buy an expensive subscription to a different, less good app. id even shell out for the astropad pro subscription if that’s what it took to get windows support. otherwise, it’s an excellent app.
  • One Last One Star

Greedy company and just result. This app is now dead to me.
  • As advertised with a caveat

    By Kurt52
Works flawlessly for me. But then have only used for one day so far. Here’s the caveat. You will need sufficient hardware. I am running photoshop on a year old iMac and Astropad on a new iPad Pro 11 inch maxed with memory. I’d say it’s the folks with minimum configuration that are probably having issues.
