Description

Classroom is a free service for schools, non-profits, and anyone with a personal Google account. Classroom makes it easy for learners and instructors to connect—inside and outside of schools. Classroom saves time and paper, and makes it easy to create classes, distribute assignments, communicate, and stay organized. Classroom is designed to help teachers create, collect, and grade assignments paperlessly, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google Document for each student. It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organized. Students can keep track of what’s due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom. With the mobile app for iOS, students and teachers can view their classes and communicate with their classmates in real time. Students can open their assignments and work on them right from their iPhone or iPad. Teachers can keep track of who has turned in work and grade the assignment - at school or on the go. Students and teachers receive notifications when they have new content in Classroom, so they are always up to date. There are many benefits of using Classroom: Easy to set up Teachers can add students directly or share a code with their class to join. It takes just minutes to set up. Saves time The simple, paperless assignment workflow allows teachers to create, review, and grade assignments quickly, all in one place. Improves organization Students can see all of their assignments on an assignments page, and all class materials (e.g., documents, photos, and videos) are automatically filed into folders in Google Drive. Enhances communication Classroom allows teachers to send announcements and start class discussions instantly. Students can share resources with each other or provide answers to questions on the stream. Affordable and secure Like the rest of G Suite for Education services, Classroom contains no ads, never uses your content or student data for advertising purposes, and is free. Permissions Notice: Camera: Needed to allow the user to take photos or videos and post them to Classroom. Microphone: Needed to enable audio capture for recording videos to be posted to Classroom. Photos: Needed to allow the user to attach photos or videos to Classroom. Photos or videos posted to Classroom will be stored on Google servers in order to show them in Classroom.

As a student I hate google classroom, the app is terrible but because Ebackpack recently shut down it is the only option for schools to use. First the typing system is terrible and doesn’t work well. To type you have to press a button on the screen and press somewhere else to open a text box. This alone is fine but to pick the font size you have to zoom in and out to get the correct size. This would also be not preferable but fine if the typing wasn’t so sensitive and while zooming out it opens up 3 text boxes. This pales in comparison to the big problem of the app crashing. I can not express the hours upon hours of work that has been deleted by the app crashing. Often I will be 3 hours into a project for it to crash and not only delete all progress I have but also delete all the saves I had in the file. Overall google classroom should only be used by schools If it is the only choice.
  • Love Google Classroom - One Key Feature Missing

I use Google Classroom every day in all my classes. I post assignment, collect student work, and provide feedback. However, there is one key feature missing. When students submit work, they should have the option to scan a hand written document with their phone to upload a pdf. This would be extremely valuable in math and science classes where most of the work is symbolic.

OKAY. So I’m taking the time from my class to write this review. Google classroom needs to STOP crashing every 50 seconds. I’ve been working on some stuff needing to be turned in BUT the app casually crashes as if I don’t have anything to work on. Here’s the fun part, as soon as I’m almost finished, it crashes, AND IT DOESNT SAVE THE PROGRESS. I’m sorry but this app needs some serious updating that can fix these issues because I am not going to casually fail my Astronomy class because of “missing” work.

I love this app because as a student I’m able to access this app easier than signing into my school google account. This is way more convenient!

I love that google classroom is able to be on my moms phone now but as a student, I need it to be able to type/edit and revise, so I can do my assignments on the go or when I don’t have internet. Just something to think about thanks bye!❤️

This app is amazing! A little buggy but very worth it. All of my teachers have sites on classroom and I can correct my homework, see upcoming events, and even print out extra pages of homework that I have missed. I can also see calendars. Very well created/developed and I’d really recommend it for students and teachers out there. Also, do people really read these?
