Description

Explore world landmarks, discover natural wonders and step inside locations such as museums, arenas, restaurants and small businesses with Google Street View. Also create photo spheres to add your own Street View experiences. Start with your phone’s camera or add a one–shot spherical camera (like the Ricoh Theta V or S) for easy 360º photography. Then, you can publish to Google Maps to share your photo spheres with the world. Content galleries: • Browse — or be notified of — Google’s newest special collections • Explore all of Street View (including contributions from others) • Review your public profile of published photo spheres • Manage your private photo spheres • Immerse yourself in photo spheres with Cardboard mode Creating and sharing photo spheres: • Use your phone’s camera (no camera accessories required) • Connect to a spherical camera to capture in one tap • Share to Google Maps as immersive photo spheres • Share privately as flat photos Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

  • Fantastic App

The app’s images are very clear. I feel like I can touch the images on the screen. The only fault I have with the app is that it shows a different address for the house that I was looking for, it should be accurate. If the house address is 650, then show that and not 661.

Just get a black screen when trying to use with Google Cardboard. Others have noted this issue as well.

Google street view used to be a wonderful app! I loved the feeling of almost traveling from place to place using my VR glasses. But now when I click on the button to go into VR mode, nothing happens. The screen goes black. It makes me sad. When will the app be updated with the glitch fixed? As I’ve seen on the help forums for the app, this has been going on for a long time. I really want to use this app again. :(((

It allows users to upload and publish their own 360 photos. (Mine was missing, but I like the app anyway!)

Google has removed their Street View component from their Google Maps app. GSV app is what I need to use to get Street View, but I find it not so user friendly. It seems to have less functionality. I hope Google will update “Maps” soon to include Street View again.
  • Update in August killed VR 😕

Update 11/25: Despite what the listed features say, you cannot immerse yourself in Cardboard photo spheres because the update from about 3 months ago bricked this feature, at least for me and and some others. -Still waiting for an update that fixes this. Definitely not updating any other Google apps, and have deleted this app until VR is fixed. Update 11/7: Hello ... Google, anyone? Please provide an update that brings back the cardboard VR viewer feature that you still list in the description. It has been months since one of the last updates bricked this app and, hence, the viewer it was designed for.

Comes in handy. Especially for those who can’t follow directions.

Finally an app worth downloading, it is by far the best I’ve seen in what seems like millennia...
  • Frustrating and annoying to use

One the biggest annoyance is the mini map with address keeps on popping up every several seconds. You have to keep pulling it down. The second annoyance is it sometimes won't pick up very old addresses that Google Maps will. Nothing shows up at all in the search results. Shameful.
