I am a full time office manager at a dental office but i have a passion for babysitting and one day want to open my own daycare. Coming on this app and being able to do what i love and scheduling based off of my availability is the best! I have babysat so far for 2 families and have had no issues with the families or app! Applying is easy and i get emails RIGHT after families post ads so you can be first to apply! Great way to get your feet wet if this is something you chose to do in the future!

    It keeps crushing
  • Only sending first word of message

When I am writing potential job opportunities, I compose a message to Send to the families. And then once it has sent. It is only sending the first word, for example it is just sending the word “hello” or “hi there” and nothing else I wrote to the family. I did not appreciate this glitch because it makes me look every unprofessional and not at all how I want to be received when sending a message to be consider for a a nanny. The costs associated with this app is very expensive too. Would love some help with getting this fixed
  • Issue with notification

Hi, I love the app BUT I keep getting notifications that my response rate is at risk, from Not responding. Then I go in and check and I have no new messages! It is really frustrating, because it’s telling me I’m not responding and implying something is at “risk” and when you log in. There is nothing new at all, there is not one message ever that I haven’t responded too. (When I get this notification , daily) I recommend fixing this or changing your messaging, so it’s optional and doesn’t make us sitters feel Something is at risk and waste valuable time, checking something that isn’t there. Either that or you have a bug on my app. Other than that it’s a solid app & great and easy to Use. Thanks!
  • Unfair Rules & reviews- Banned go no reason given

Parents I work with describe me as responsible, detail-oriented, and creative. However, SitterCity has decided that I am banned from their site before even applying for a job, I was told and I am banned from ever signing up again. They will not tell me why, but will only rudely post their terms and agreements to me. I may have failed the background check, however, background checks have never been a problem for me before. I sadly see this app in a different light now. I’m not sure what their goal is, but it is not to support sitters and local families, because they have made me feel ostracized from the babysitting community for unknown reasons (and will not be refunded). No matter how I look at this experience, I feel that SitterCity was unfair to me. — I used this app previously, and one thing I remember that made me stop using it, was that I received a negative review from someone I hadn’t worked for. Reading through the reviews on the App Store, I see that it is a problem. There really needs to be some sort of question flowchart before someone reviews you to see if they are really in a position to give you a review. There is no way to remove these reviews, although they are clearly too easy to write (should be easier to remove if that’s the way it is).
  • Great website, but I don’t like the app as much as on browser

I’ve used this website for 14 years getting nanny jobs. I’ve downloaded the app a couple different times and always end up deleting it though. It’s just better to go through the browser. I might try the app again to see if they got rid of the things that bugged me, and update review. Easy enough to use on the browser though! I see parents complaining they need to sign up for three months but I think there’s an option to go month by month as well. Parents should know that the Nannies are not charged by Sittercity. Unlike Care.com which charges both the nanny and the parent. Care.com is absolutely terrible to navigate and use compared to Sittercity. I’ve had good luck with Customer Service and when I wanted parents to leave me a review who I did not find through the app, they were able to email the company and ask for a temporary membership quite successfully. Customer Service always gets back to me right away.
  • More subscription options

Why is there only one choice for subscription? Why can’t you choose the duration of your subscription. Like pay monthly instead of every three months? What if a sitter doesn’t respond to any of you jobs. Then your just out of $95.00. And I’m sure there is no refund offered if you don’t find a sitter. This just doesn’t sit right with me that you have to sign up for premium just to message a sitter for a job and also to leave a review. That should be something that’s free. I would want to get to know the sitter before I waste my money on a premium subscription. This app just seems it’s all about the money.

It looks so sketchy and the app itself just glitches making me just not want to take jobs listed
  • From a sitter/ nanny herself

I love Sittercity! It gives me the best opportunities to find great families to get to know and be a part of. I do however think there should be a confirmation system to see where you are booked or who exactly you have sat for, because I’ve been given unfair ratings from people I’ve never met or hardly spoke to.
