Millions of people use Signal every day for free and instantaneous communication anywhere in the world. Send and receive high-fidelity messages, participate in HD voice/video calls, and explore a growing set of new features that help you stay connected. Signal’s advanced privacy-preserving technology is always enabled, so you can focus on sharing the moments that matter with the people who matter to you. • Say anything – State-of-the-art end-to-end encryption (powered by the open source Signal Protocol™) keeps your conversations secure. Privacy isn’t an optional mode — it’s just the way that Signal works. Every message, every call, every time. • Go fast – Messages are delivered quickly and reliably, even on slow networks. Signal is optimized to operate in the most constrained environment possible. • Feel free – Signal is a completely independent 501c3 nonprofit. Development is supported by users like you. No advertisements. No trackers. No kidding. • Be yourself – You can use your existing phone number and address book to securely communicate with your friends. • Speak up – Whether they live across town or across the ocean, Signal’s enhanced audio and video quality will make your friends and family feel closer. • Whisper in the shadows – Switch to the dark theme if you refuse to see the light. • Sound familiar – Choose custom alerts for each contact, or disable noises completely. Simon & Garfunkel wrote a hit song about it in 1964, and you can experience the sound of silence whenever you want by choosing “None” as your notification ringtone. • Picture this – Use the built-in image editing features to sketch, crop, and flip your outgoing photos. There’s even a text tool so that you can add more words to the 1,000 that your picture is already worth. • Perfect. Our Company Uses

    By Ockom
Our company (Ockom) recently switched to Signal instead of Slack. Great choice for privacy and so far no hindrance to workflow efficiency. Excellent product! Only wish desktop versions had group creation...please add!
  • Great but a few things...

Should have option to pin messages, Why aws servers? SCREENSHOT DETECTING - like snapchat, to protect privacy...and delete on screenshot / bruteforce / suspicious login location trigger would be cool ...

  • Pretty good secure cross-platform messenger

I like that it has iPad app that does not require your phone to be online. It also has desktop apps for Linux, Mac OS and Windows! Phone calls sound crystal clear. There is still few things it needs to improve to compete with likes of iMessage, WhatsApp or Telegram. iOS app doesn't have backup. And if Signal is serious about keeping it's app as replacement for text messaging app on Android, they will need to support RCS when it's support arrives in third party messaging apps like Textra. They need to improve link preview too and add ability to add preview when sending link to Signal directly from an app like Youtube. Currently need to copy and paste link which is cumbersome.

I love it so much. It gives me joy.

The app has severe serious multiple issues, like battery drain(*), battery heating, bugs related to audio calling, bluetooth, unable to call on iPad, inability to be fully anonymous without requiring a phone number, no way to backup and restore chats, linked device losing link etc ...and despite all these, what would you think they put their efforts into?! CONVERSATION STICKERS! (*) Wakeups: 45002 wakeups over the last 83 seconds (542 wakeups per second average), exceeding limit of 150 wakeups per second over 300 seconds

  • Best for private convos on business matters

I work as an author and I have to communicate with some sources and other officials to get information. I use Signal to handle the encryption and the simplicity that is needed when dealing with privacy. I use this app all of the time and it’s a great addition to my business apps. I dislike how people are able to add themselves onto my Signal automatically, I wish there was a way you could decline adding people onto your Signal. It should be an exclusive app with those contacts of your choosing on it. Other than that, it’s a great app and I’m happy to have the ability to use it.

  • Harder to use....

After the update, I am now forced to switch out of an annoying default mode of stickers!! What?!! Defaulting the keyboard to stickers?? Who’s idea was that?! Better still, now I need an extra tap or two just to see an image - the user exposure experience is plummeting - so sad.
