Map won’t stop snapping and resizing. Once that’s fix it will actually be functional

I haven’t used Airbnb since 2020, I was both a host and a traveler and the app got the job done. Now the app has regressed, making the search experience unusable. I was trying to find a place to stay in Saratoga, CA after a concert and every time I kept trying to move the map to see what else might be just outside the area shown on the screen (iPhone 12 Pro) the map would snap back to the original search result. So if I want to see anything outside Saratoga I now have to ping pong in and out of new searches and search city by city? What a horribly autocratic feature to build into your app: you took away the essence of the Airbnb traveler which is the ability to explore! Please fix this ASAP.
  • Map auto-zoom is super ANNOYING

The map auto-zoom is super annoying and unnecessary. I try to get the extent I want to see and the map automatically moves and zooms in around the properties. I want the map to stay where I put it. Almost makes the map unusable. Please fix.
  • Strike on the Fees Spike

App review is probably not the best arena to express my anger but hey, I was appalled to read all the articles about the CEO’s decision on the ridiculous fees increase. Money hungry much? I had been a customer since 2011 and used the service ever year but I’ll never be part of this community again unless your company changes it’s course of direction.

  • Airbnb support does not help when issues arise

I’ve been a member for three years, and enjoyed all of the Airbnb‘s I’ve stayed at. I’ve never had an issue with any of my hosts, and my hosts have never had an issue with me. I love it so much I’ve spent thousands of dollars on this app instead of hotels because of the experience it offers and it really is cheaper than hotels most times. I had a huge turn off from Airbnb this past weekend when one of my hosts completely ghosted me about a month and a half before my stay. On the day I was supposed to check in, after multiple messages and calls he still refused to answer any of them and Airbnb ended up canceling my stay there. They did give me a full refund, but when it came to helping me find a new place they were little to no help. The lady sent me a link and said that I need to be looking up and actively messaging these host to see if they’ll take a last-minute stay. I didn’t really understand why I was the one needing to do the work since it was not my fault that my host was a jerk. A piece of advice if you’re staying in Fontana California, do not stay at a host named Gary’s house. He was the one that did this. It took me about six hours to find another place, with no help from Airbnb support. When the search went past the 3 PM mark on the day I was supposed to be arriving at my host house, Airbnb told me they could no longer accommodate me on that day, and I should just wait until tomorrow and see if they could help me. When I asked if they would reimburse me for such an inconvenience they said they won’t be able to reimburse me and they would only be able to do a small amount which they could not give me an amount number. If you’ve made it this far in this review, I urge you to really do your homework when searching for a host, and if they do not communicate within a timely manner, I just recommend canceling and trying to find somewhere else. To Airbnb support: I think you should be doing better for your customers especially in an emergency situation such as mine. This was a huge turn off for me to use this app anymore. Even though, I did enjoy this service up until now, the people that I ended up booking with, which is a totally different app service, were much more accommodating and I think I’ll rather go with them in the future. I know this doesn’t affect Airbnb too much but they should be better with their services for their customers because this was just ridiculous. Also, after reading down in the hosts reviews, I noticed that other people had a similar situation, but he never ghosted them. Airbnb should reprimand hosts that do this often so they don’t do this to more people. Just my two cents. Thanks for reading.
  • Very poor customer service

Had a bad experience with some hosts, and after we left a negative review, the hosts proceeded to harass us with offensive claims and reported us to airbnb. Customer service emailed us saying they were looking into our violations of community standards (which were never fully addressed) and completely ignored our complaints of harassment and our poor experience with our hosts. This experience reflects poorly on the app as whole, showing there is really poor quality control and youre better off saving more money with a hotel (with added fees, we have often gotten better deals at many 4 star hotels, i.e. the omni). They really have no desire to hold hosts accountable for poor hospitality and its a real shame considering how prices have increased on this app
  • Suppresses negative feedback & does not remove unsafe listings

Deleted my review & told me I was being discriminating in my review. The issue was the place we stayed was horrific.. as someone that is well versed in secret societies, it was obvious this place was used for black magic rituals. There was even a red chair clearly used for ritual torture that had marks from tie bindings!!! The energy was very dark and disturbing. It was so distressing that not only was my feedback suppressed but that this is still an active listing on Airbnb! I will never use this horrendous service again.
