I’m being charged 40$ for a regular 8$ fare because “fares are a lot higher than usual” seriously cmon it’s ridiculous. Don’t waste your time
  • Notifications other than “ride here”

    By Okie_blokie
This useless app sends out multiple notifications about random crap, and I’m left with the choices, keep my notifications on and keep receiving these stupid unnecessary notifications and get alerted when my ride is here, or turn off the notifications and miss out the notification when my ride is here. Not a choice should have to make Uber. App works fine, Ubers service is fine. But when your blowing up my phone for no reason and I’m left with the ultimatum above, you’ve got a problem.

Uber continues to just be a lackluster app. The primary reason why it continues to survive is because it’s quite frankly the only dominant ridesharing app. Drivers are horrible, car conditions stink, the app never has any of the right pick up times
  • Horrible service

I’ve never been overly impressed by the driver pool, but being a loyal user of this particular rideshare app, I felt a particular sting of betrayal with my experience with a driver today. I requested a ride, saw that the driver was 6 minutes away and set down my phone, 3 minutes later, the driver messaged me (still 6 minutes away) asking where he would be taking me. I immediately realized that this driver was just cherrypicking the rides he wanted to do. Instead of calling him out, because I didn’t want him to cancel the ride as I was under a time constraints, i told him I would be going to the address I entered and that was entered. He informed me that he couldn’t see it. I would have never responded to the driver’s first message but as I watched the car it was not moving toward me and it sat in the same location, and because I was in a rush i had to convince him to come pick me up. So I told him that he would be able to see it when i got into the car. At this point it had been 8 minutes since I had ordered my ride, he did not get any closer to my location the entire time, and suddenly it tells me that my ride is canceled. Now it tells me my new driver is going to be arriving in 10 minutes which means I’m going to be late. Why is it that when I cancel a ride I get charged but something like this can happen to me where a money grubbing driver wastes my time and now I’m late to a meeting with no compensation (it’s my understanding that the drivers are conpensated for cancellations after 2 minutes). As a customer isn’t my time just as valuable a driver’s time. And if so, why am i penalized for wasting driver’s time but they have no penalty for wasting mine? When I went to try and report this issue in the app there was no way to access the messages or the fact that I had ever been in contact with that driver, meaning that some creep could have messaged me completely inappropriately and I would have no way of reporting the issue to uber. If the company wants to improve then i would expect a way to report any driver I’d been in contact with, not just the ones I ride with. Until I have resolution with this issue, I’ll be riding with Lyft from now on.
  • Unknown error

I can’t even log in. I enter my phone number, unknown error. I switch from Wifi to cellular and enter my phone number, it takes me to the next screen. I enter the four digit code, unknown error. Do you have a team of monkeys banging away at typewriters to design this app?
  • What a joke

A friend asked for help so I download the app and enter my phone number to start the process..it tells me to enter the code sent to my phone..I did..then it sends me a message saying We were unable to complete your request, please try again! I did..same message! So I try using social media options..same thing!! I’ve never had an Uber account so none of this makes sense!! So, I called my local cab company and saved myself the headache of using an app that clearly is for customer service since I can’t find a way to contact them to fix whatever error is happening..NOTE:: I made sure the phone number and code were correct before entering as well as United States as the country!! No love loss but it would have been nice to have had this as a back up in case of emergency but looks like I’ll use Lyft instead unless Uber would like to contact ME to fix the problem ( which I doubt they will )!!!

  • Can’t Cancel

Saw the car heading to pick me up was not as advertised. Uber makes the app waaaay too hard to cancel. Even after five seconds.
  • Terrible UI/UX and HORRIBLE customer service

    By thecherryking
I ordered an UberEats delivery from the Uber app and tried to cancel it, only to find that the Uber app had no cancel button and the help page was extremely unhelpful. The “contact a representative” button brought me to an empty page. I had to download the UberEats app to cancel the order and by that time they refused to give me a refund because “5 minutes had passed”. I tried contacting their customer service, but it turned out to just be a couple of bots because no matter what I emailed them it was clear they had not read my message and kept reiterating the same few words about how 5 minutes had passed, even when I clearly expressed it was because Uber had not put a cancel button ANYWHERE on the order page. This is ridiculous, Uber. You can’t even be bothered to hire real people even when you’re the spearhead of a billion dollar industry? I was a Platinum user before but after this terrible experience I’m taking my business to Lyft instead.
