Line2 meets our needs - offers proper extensions not just forwarding to a mobile phone.

Awful, constant glitching and downtime. Wish I had never gotten a line 2 number
  • A great replacement for Google Voice

It differs in a few ways, but there are no significant features that don't exist or have alternatives. On top of that, Line2 offers additional features with no equivalent in GV. This app lets me use my non-carrier wi-fi-only iPad as a phone and SMS device.
  • No customer support

I’m been waiting waiting on the phone for almost an hour trying to speak with someone in order to change the credit card on file. I lost my wallet a while back and had to change my card. There’s no way to do that online yourself, so I sent them an email requesting help, and then forgot about it since they never got back to me. Now my account is frozen and I can’t reach anyone for help. Worst customer support ever. Can’t believe they target business clients.
  • Good second Line for iPhone

I’ve been using Line2 for 3 years. It’s been great for making calls in the area code where I live because my iPhone’s number is from another state. People don’t answer when they see my iPhone number but will pickup with the local number. This is important because I work as a chaplain and need to reach people in time of crisis. Just wish the sound quality was better.

Yesterday, I downloaded the Line2 app on my iPad Pro. I went through the the signup process and paid for one month of service. AFTER accepting payment, the Line2 app tells me there is a problem with my name and I have to start all over again. Line2 TOOK MY MONEY and FAILED to give me a phone number. Line2 ALSO FAILED to create an account for me using the e-mail address I specified during the signup process. Bottom line, I just threw away $9.99 because a poorly written app checked for an acceptable name AFTER accepting payment. If a person’s name is so important to Line2, an alert should appear BEFORE they take your money. Speaking as a registered Apple Developer, the Line2 iOS app is poorly designed and implemented. For example, when choosing a phone number, the app does not indicate which city the phone number is associated with. The Line2 website does show the city associated with the phone number. Line2 Development team - Back to the drawing board to get your app right. If you do not know how to correct it, I DO KNOW HOW TO CORRECT IT - PAY ME TO DO THE JOB RIGHT.

So far so good. Calls are clear. Only had a couple of connection issues but due to being in bad area. Like that calls come up as Line2 calls and that I can have a separate address book. Key feature when doing P.I. Work.
  • Good concept, back end... lacking.

Line2 served a purpose of a second line. I’d list them as 70% reliable. Texting and picture messaging was not great, and the service would go down too often for my liking. Support was almost non existent. I sent one email, and got a form reply then nothing further. I switched to another provider.... problems be gone 😀
  • Horrible
