this app is an amazing idea but it didn’t identify half of my crystals correctly. But all of the info it gives you about the crystals is amazing

Had a couple crystals I couldn’t identify so I downloaded this app in hopes it would work. I started off by taking pictures of some of the ones I already knew and most of them were incorrect.

I only have this app for five minutes but it could not properly identify one single stone that I plugged into it. I still don’t know what kind of stone is the one that I actually got this app to identify.
  • Poor accuracy

Identifying rocks is tough, and this apps high inaccuracy proves that. I would say it was incorrect 80% of the time, and I had known specimens, both polished and unpolished. I really wished this was better at identifying, but with so many variabilities within specimens, a phone app may never be able to reliably tell you what your looking at.
  • Not at all accurate

I was really hoping this App would be great, but it needs a lot of work. It can’t even identify simple gemstones like Quartz, Amethyst, or Citrine. Very disappointed. Guess I’ll go back to carrying around my trust crystal id pocket book.
  • Wrong every time

I gave this app a try and it was wrong everytime. I wanted to make sure it was fool proof so I took some pictures of different stones I have and the app got it wrong EVERY time, even with Quartz which is SO EASY to identify. Disappointed

Tested several rocks and crystals we know exactly what they are and the majority of the time we would get conflicting answers from just taking a picture of the rock from a different angle. Not impressed.
