takes forever to load! i am on the latest version and keep on updating the app hoping the load time will be faster. it is painfully slow! seems like they want their ads to load before you can start using the app. i paid for your camera! let me use the app!
  • Great cams for the price but Alexa support?

Been purchasing Yi cams for a while. The cameras are great and the app is pretty good. I can’t seem to locate the so called Alexa support featured in the image. I can turn the cams on and off, I can’t show them on my Show 10, 8 or 5 so I’m a bit confused. I even tried disabling and re enabling the skill and that did not work. Otherwise, great cam and app.

Hate the new update. Stops working when I leave it on overnight. Alerts happen hours later, pinging over and over again.

I’ve had my YI camera a for a couple years now and it is fantastic. The thing that led me to purchase Yi is the option to store footage on an SD card instead of an outrageous monthly or yearly subscription! I recommend them to all my friends that are thinking about getting security cameras for their home!

Won’t load video alerts. Constantly says failed to load. Then any time I access the camera it’s stuck at loading 30% then says camera offline try again 10 more times and it finally loads. Then it stops working

I have had no problems and I’ve used the same camera for 2 years now.
  • Good cameras but app needs improvement

I have been using the cameras for 2 weeks now. So far i like the quality of the videos and the motion tracking option and the sensitivity of the motion detection is really excellent. All of this comes in a really affordable price. Now for the CONS; The cloud service has does not been working on my iphone! I am currently using the 15 day free trail but i will not be subscribing to it. I installed an SD card instead, but its not very easy to scroll through the clips stored, everytime i want to watch a specific clip it jumps back to the first clip of the day. I would like also to see an option to notify me if the camera is disconnected.

Does the camera charge when plugged in? Can I unplug it and record video on it? I don’t see a battery life.

Cameras are very solid. I have 4 throughout my house and they work great. I also have Arlo pro cameras and nest cameras to compare it to. You really cant beat the cost. Only a few gripes. 1. Must buy separately a memory card because lets be serious nobody wants another recurring payment for cloud video storage. 2.From what i could find you can only go as big as a 32GB memory card which only allows for 2 days of continuous video storage. Would like to have gone bigger for longer storage capacity. 3. Motion detection is slower than arlo pro so if i run by the camera it probably wont record what just happened. Also i cant limit how long the video will be recorded for if there is motion so if it detects motion i cant say to record the previous 1 minute and the next 5 minutes. But to be fair neither does the arlo pro. 4. Field of view is not as wide as i expected, compared to my arlo pro i lose a couple feet of area caught by the camera. Its not bad but in my living room im almost tempted to put two yi cameras just to catch everything. 5. Outside of a few picky thing like that you cant beat a $20 camera and a $7 memory card for what your getting. It actually competes with my $200 arlo camera. And in some aspects beats my arlo like the two way audio. Speaker works better on the yi than my arlo. The only thing i have not used alot is motion detection because like i said earlier its somewhat delayed so i just choose to do continuous recording. If yi would add more detailed type settings to the way these cameras record they would hand down have the best cameras out there regardless of the price. Hope this review helps you decide whether or not to get one.
